- Information Management tools connect people with information
- While “Knowledge” can be complicated and ambiguous, “Information” is explicit, simple, and unambiguous
- Project information can be managed and distributed as
- Hard-copy documents (letters, memos, reports)
- Electronic communications (e-mail, fax, telephone, websites)
- Electronic project management tools (web interfaces, project management software, meeting software, collaborative software)
- The Project Management Information System (PMIS) can include a component for sharing Documents and Information
- An information management tool is most effective when it is interactive, for example
- Ability for users to contact the information’s author in order to obtain more information
- Ability for users to ask for help
